Deposit definitely paid now

10:32 am
Cheque's cleared today... phew... so that's all sorted now. I'm glad, that's one less thing on my mind!

2:20 pm
Pauline says that eyes haven't opened yet... I can't wait to see Jesse with his eyes open.
This is all so exciting! It is such a wonderful experience to see it all happening from day to day. Just amazing.

All sorted now

Money deposited in HSBC account (and left my wallet in the branch whilst doing that... got to pick it up later today). So all should be fine now! Looking forward to new piccies.

Visit to see Jesse sorted out today. We'll be going to meet him on Sunday, 21st January. Can't wait to see him and all the other pups! Must not forget my camera!

Yipee, some new piccies.

Deposit arrived

I got confirmation from Pauline that my cheque for £300 arrived. Now I just have to transfer the money into the HSBC account! So glad, this is sorted now, so no-one else can have my boy.

The cheque had to be initialed as I put the wrong name on it... I hope it is not a problem. Will also have to make sure that I put the money into the account first thing... I hope it all goes smoothly now... I seem to really have to fight for this pup all the time... but he'll be well worth it!

2nd January 2007

I have sent the deposit off today... it was urgent as other people are very interested in my boy... but he's mine!

Jesse is already 1 week old! Jesse was 9.8 oz (278 g) when born and now already 14.5 oz (411 g). Amazing.

1st January 2007

After lots of "name finding" in my head and asking Cornel for suggestions, I have decided to call him JESSE. Cornel is not too keen, but he'll get used to it!

Here's some pictures taken on 30th December at 4 days old...

Aren't they just gorgous with those lovely shiny coats, squishy noses and long tails...

29th December 2006

Chris replied that Lucy didn't show any signs yet, which is strange as she should at 5 weeks... She also said that she would understand if I got a puppy from somewhere else as I had been waiting for so long...

I planned to wait whatever happened, however, was curious what that litter was that the ADA informed me about.

So I went and contacted them and also found a breeder in Hereford (which is where the ADA said the breeder was). I contacted Pauline Bishop... and yes, she is the one with the long-tailed litter. I asked regarding the colours... and wow, they are sable and sable parti (as well as black/tan).

I contacted Chris again asking whether she would be ok if I reserved the sable one from this breeder. She said no, she'd understand, particularly as it was a colour that I really wanted.

I asked Pauline whether I could reserve the sable one...

28th December 2006

I contacted Chris, asking about any news re Lucy's pregnancy.

27th December 2006

I received an email from the Anti-Docking Alliance that there was an undocked litter born last week, whether I would be interested. I ignored the email as I was waiting for a pup from Chris.

November 2006

Chris' Lucy has been mated to Jarvis and we are eagerly waiting whether there is a pregnancy!

October 2006

I had already contacted the American Cocker Spaniel breed rescue a while ago as our next dog was definitely going to be an American shortly after meeting the puppy the first few times, but they said that it was extremly unlikely to get a young, undocked ACS into rescue... Breeders say the same that they don't get dogs returned... So that option is out...

I turned it round and round in my head, not really wanting to buy from a breeder at all... but whatever way I put it, a breeder puppy came up as the only option! I was going to wait until a rescue American came up, but now with all this happening, the heartache is too much and I need to fill the hurting hole in my heart as soon as possible. To make sure that rescue dogs are not missing out, I have pledged to pay the same amount that I pay for the puppy to various rescue organisations. It gives me peace of mind that rescue dogs benefit from my purchase of this puppy too.

I looked for breeders that leave their puppies undocked and found one! Chris Page from Kent. I contacted her and she said that she expected a litter just after Christmas. I asked her to put me on her waiting list.
