Only one poo last night from Jesse... other than that, back on track...
I think something had spooked him in the garden, that's why he avoided going out there! We have gone back to giving him a treat every time we see him going. And it seems to work.

Jesse is naughty: house training
Jesse has reverted in house training. I found a few wees on the carpet over the last couple of weeks, though these seem to have stopped again. But he is also pooing indoors again, always behind the sitting room table... I am not sure why. Is it because I changed the food? That's very possible. Is it because I have been away for a couple of days with Flash? But he started it before that, though it probably wouldn't have helped as it was the first time he was away from me AND from Flash! Or is it just another phase as they do sometimes go through that... That's the most likely explanation, particularly as he even does it when the back door is OPEN! So I am just going back to praising and treating for going outdoors and ignoring when indoors...
I took him training on Tuesday together with Dylan, the first time in weeks (I used the Tuesdays recently for Flash's TV training). He loved it and is making good progress. His heelwork is coming along very nicely (he'll look stunning once we got that all right!), the present position is fab, the retrieve is at a stage now where he picks up and brings back; yesterday he started sitting in the present with the dumbell (though not close yet). Even the stays and waits are coming along nicely. These are the hardest exercises for him as he is very lively and impatient! But he is making progress. He is still only 8 months old, so we have got plenty of time.

Fun day out
I was invited by Flash's agility trainer to join their club funday. I decided to bring Jesse along as it would be good socialisation for him with both people and dogs! And he loved it! There were about 30 dogs and he had a great time with them. It was very hot, but there was plenty of shade and water available!

Jesse did a home check
Last night, I had to do a home check for someone that wanted to adopt a Lhasa Apso. So I thought that Jesse would be the most suitable dog to bring along. He did very well, went to explore the whole house and garden and then settled down. He quite enjoyed exploring someone else's house.

7 months old!
Wow, Jesse was already 7 months old yesterday! And as mentioned before, adolescence has finally hit him too!
He is still a cuddle monster and gets on great with the other three! There is the odd tense situation with toys and food now, but hey, it's all part of the deal. It is actually an important time as Flash and Jesse are battling out their hyerarchy at the moment... Dylan and Troy are keeping out of it and Jesse doesn't really challenge them! There is the occasional snap at Dylan around food and toys, but Dylan can't be bothered and just walks off. That's the way to do it!
Didn't take any pictures yesterday, but I shall take my camera with me on our walk tonight and can take some pictures then.

Adolescence!
Well, here we go; adolescence has finally caught up with our Jesse monkey!
Apart from the marking and cocking leg, his recall is suffering a little now, particularly when other dogs are around. He sometimes looks at me now and goes "Why? Can't see the point of that..." - naughty pup. He has also started chewing again - in particular my shoes... arghhh... Never mind, that'll teach me to put them away!
Oh, and he is becoming a bit food possessive... he had two stand offs with Flash last night, once when Flash had a piece of carrot (and Jesse backed off in the end) and once Jesse had the piece of carrot and Jesse stared him away... (with a bit of help from me calling Flash away from it before anything happened). He also snapped at Flash when a piece of food fell on the floor and Flash tried to pick it up... Had to tell Jesse off for that! I have no problem with the dogs defending their own treats and chews, but we do not snap and growl about just a potential treat!
So we are going to have to be fairly strict on this... He is also snatching treats at times which is also not acceptable, so he won't get any unless he sits and takes them gently!
I am fully aware that Jesse is bound to go through all these phases just like any other pup! And overall he is still no problem at all... if this is the intensitiy of adolescence we get, then it's going to be a fairly easy ride!
Here's some pictures taken last Wednesday... (three days before his grooming session):
Aren't I beautiful

No, mum, my teeth don't need brushing... see?

Jesse's grandmother
I have found a picture of Jesse's grandmothers.
Here is Khia's mum. She is called Freya, or the posh name "Afterglow Dragonfly".

Picture taken from Kementari website.
And this is Bex's mum. She is called "Saldawn Strike a Pose" and is the one in front in this picture.
